    Sindh Cracks Down on Plastic Bag Ban from June 15

    To reduce pollution, the Sindh government has announced that all plastic bag will be banned from June 15, 2025.
    Sindh announced that the use of plastic bags are strictly prohibited. starting from 15 june, 2025. This big decision made for a right objective to control the pollution and safeguard the environment from the damages caused by plastics.

    The impetus for the paper was put into motion by an official announcement made by the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). The agency has categorically mentioned that new, use or manufacturing of plastic bags will not be allowed in the province starting from the 15th of June. The authorities explain that those who will not adhere to these new standards will be punished with severe consequences such as fines and business shutdown.

    The use of plastic bags has continued to fuel pollution in the environment and at large the world. They cause clogging of drainage systems, pollute water ways and are dangerous to animals because many a times they are mistaken for food.     He also emphasized on the fact that campaigns will be implemented in a bid to inform the members of the population about the adverse impacts of the plastic bags and the advantages of carrying the reusable bags.

    How businesses should prepare


    The department has also directed the shop owners, manufacturers, and distributors of the bags to get rid of their merchandise before June 15.It will be illegal to bring plastic bags to customers starting tomorrow. SEPA personnel will conduct raids in order to ensure compliance with the new law among the companies.
    Customers are also urged to check with the businesses that they sometimes provide environmentally friendly bags related to the ban.
